VERY GOOD

The Bosch SHE8PT55UC Benchmark Series features a classy and sleek interior design that will complement any kitchen style. It comes with several innovative features, such as automatic sensors, different wash cycles, interior lighting, LCD display and many more to help you wash dishes more efficiently and faster. We don't like the fact that it's overpriced and that it takes almost 2 hours to wash dishes.

The Bosch SHE8PT55UC Benchmark Series is the most popular dishwasher from Bosch’s new dishwasher series and it’s not hard to see why. It comes with several impressive features, such as color LCD display, interior lighting, third adjustable racks and so much more. The only drawback is the price. According to us, for a new dishwasher that doesn’t include high-pressure spray jets or a steam option, it’s very pricey. But it’s up to you to decide if $1,499 seems like a fair price or not. When it comes to choosing a dishwasher for your kitchen, there are a lot of things that you should think about. After all, your decision to buy a dishwasher should not be taken lightly. That’s why today we’ve decided to review the Bosch SHE8PT55UC, to help you gain a lot of insight into the performance of this innovative dishwasher. Let’s get started.

Specifications

Knowing how to install a dishwasher in a safe and easy manner is crucial but most people tend to overlook this important aspect and focus on other things that are probably less important. In this case, the Bosch SHE8PT55UC has a major advantage over other dishwashers because it comes with a foolproof installation. The water house is already attached and the best part about it is that it wires up through an external junction box and not a panel somewhere hidden beneath the unit. It’s almost impossible not to notice the bright full-color LCD display which shows useful instructions or helpful reminders to close the door or start a washing cycle. This Bosch dishwasher features a sleek design and we’re not only talking about the exterior design, the interior design is pretty impressive. You’ll notice straight away the extra storage space that it provides and the little elements that make the difference, such a cutlery tray at the top and overhead lights that illuminate all the components inside the dishwasher.

Features

This dishwasher includes 5 wash levels that were designed for a more precise cleaning. In addition, it features sensor washing that is able to measure the water temperature inside the unit, the load level, as well as the soil content. The sensors are extremely useful because other than measuring temperature and so on, they can automatically adjust the wash cycle to ensure that all the stains are removed from cutlery, glassware, and bakeware. Unfortunately, it doesn’t include a steam option that allows you to remove hard food deposits from dishes. High-pressure spray jets are also not available here. Nevertheless, this unit does a pretty good job even without these additional features. You will be able to choose from different wash cycles, such as Normal for regular loads, Heavy for pots, Glass for delicate glassware, Express which is used to save time and Rinse for a quick rinsing without detergent. If you load your dishwasher with different dishes, it’s recommended to use the Auto cycle so that the sensor can automatically choose and adjust the wash cycle. Furthermore, if you want to wash fewer dishes, use the Half Load options to ensure that you save water and energy. The Bosch unit operates at sound levels of 40 dBA, which is lower than your average dishwasher. This is definitely a plus.

Dimensions

If you are planning to fit your new dishwasher under the benchtop before shopping, takes some time to take precise measurements of height, width, and depth as well. Regarding the Bosch SHE8PT55UC, it’s a standard size. Its following measurements are: 33 7/8 ” x 23 9/16 ” x 23 7/8”. In addition, it weighs almost 109 pounds, so it’s somewhat light and compact if we think about its size.

Conclusions

The only major drawback that we’ve found is the actual cost. To get this dishwasher you’ll have to spend almost $1,499. Other than that, it has some impressive features and well-balanced and beautiful design. Concerning the warranty period, this dishwasher has failed to impress us. It comes with a standard 1-year warranty for parts and another 1-year warranty for labor. In terms of energy efficiency, it is Energy Star qualified, meaning that it uses less energy to operate. The annual water usage and energy consumption are of 624 gallons/year and respectively 259 kWh/year.
