Just when we think that there is no way that dishwashers can get any better, they surprise us with more and more innovative technologies, meant to reduce our hard chores to easy tasks. The Samsung DW80J9945US Top Control Dishwasher with WaterWall Technology is one of the most innovative 2015 dishwasher models. Costing only $1,199, this unit features top of the line features that even dishwashers that are twice as expensive, don’t offer. Nevertheless, like any product, it is certain to also have some flaws. This is why we are here: to analyze the pros and cons of a unit in order to determine its true value so that you can make an informed purchase. Without further ado, let’s see what this dishwasher model brings to the table.

Specifications

If there is one thing that truly makes a difference in a dishwasher’s design, that is the control panel. We love that this dishwasher has a hidden control panel, which gives it a minimalist, polished look. With a 44 dBA sound level, this unit is as quiet as they get. As you probably know by now, the average conversation is about 60 dBA loud, so a sound level of 44 dBA is pretty impressive for a running dishwasher. The Samsung DW80J9945US has a 15 place setting capacity, featuring two main racks. The upper rack can easily be adjusted with the help of a one-touch trigger. This rack also features adjustable tines and a cup clip. The lower rack also has adjustable tines that can be fully folded down, and it features a 2 piece silverware basket. The dishwasher also has a flexible third rack, perfect for silverware or for items with bizarre shapes that are harder to fit. Last but not least, there is also a Flexy Glass Rack that you can use for washing delicate glassware. The dishwasher has 6 washing cycles: a normal cycle, a heavy cycle, a delicate china/ gentle cycle, a quick plus cycle, a pots and pans cycle and a smart auto-wash cycle. It also has several useful options such as: a delay start option, a sanitizing option and a half load wash option.

Features

The most phenomenal feature is the WaterWall technology which, as the name suggests, consists of a wall of water, made of powerful jets that can handle even the most heavily soiled dishes. The Zone Boosters is another impressive feature that allows you to target the bottom rack’s left or right zone for a more intense cleaning process. So, you can comfortably put your heavily soiled pots on the lower rack, knowing that they will come out just as spotless as the plates. Aside from the classic heated dry option, it also features a Dry+ option that will deliver perfectly dry dishes, whether they are made of porcelain or plastic. In order to prevent accidents or inconveniences, this dishwasher has several features such as a child lock button, an overflow sensor, a low-level water sensor, a turbidity clean sensor, a leakage sensor, a start and pause button, a cancel and drain button and much more. Its stainless steel tub is guaranteed to last for many years.

Dimensions

The Samsung DW80J9945US weighs 101 lb. It is 24″ wide, 24 2/3” deep and 33 7/8″ high. As you can see, it is quite big, but that is to be expected considering its big capacity.

Conclusion

This unit has everything that anyone could want from a dishwasher. Moreover, it is easy to use and it is Energy Star certified as well as NSF certified. It you don’t trust its durability, you should know that the dishwasher is covered by a 1 year parts and labor warranty. Moreover, the circuit board and the interior racking are covered for 5 years. The liner motion parts are covered for five years and the stainless steel tub and lining are covered for a lifetime.

Pros

  • Numerous features meant to ease your chores
  • Easy to use
  • Energy Star qualified
  • Top of the line technologies
  • Flexible dish storing space

Cons

  • Slightly more expensive than the average dishwasher
